CHAIRMAN'S ADDRESS

Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade(CCPIT Shanghai)serves as an important window for foreign exchanges of Shanghai. Under the leadership of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Shanghai Municipal People's Government and CCPIT headquarters, CCPIT Shanghai, with a mission of"connecting government, serving enterprises and representing the business community",and main functions of promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, has been dedicated to promoting communication and exchange between Chinese and foreign business circles.

Year 2021 was the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan and a key year marking fulfillment of the first-centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society as well as initiation for the second-centenary goal. Under challenges of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, external changes and internal transformation. CCPIT Shanghai, centering around Shanghai's initiative of building an international economic,finance, trade,shipping, and sci-tech center ("Five-Center"initiative),and focusing on accelerating the formation of an economic development pattern that takes domestic development as the main-stay, with domestic and international development reinforcing each other, while keeping in line with the general tone of seeking progress while maintaining stability, made overall plans to promote international exhibitions, international commercial legal services,international trade and investment pro-motion and other key work,strived to promote the sustainable development of our work in the new era,and played our unique role in promoting deeper reform and higher-level opening-up of Shanghai.

In the coming year,all leaders and employees of CCPIT Shanghai will continue our hard work in promoting all lines of our work to a higher level by keeping an upbeat spirit, taking initiative and responsibility,being innovative and adaptive,adopting a strategic standpoint and giving full play to our strengths.

This yearbook records the highlights and achievements of our work in major economic and trade activities over the past year.
